About Paul & Wendy

Paul has trained Hunter Champions at Devon, Pennsylvania National Horse Show, Washington International and The National Horse Show as well as shows throughout Virginia and the region. He has trained Grand Prix winners along with Amateur and Junior Jumpers. Several of his former students have gone on to be successful professionals in the hunters, show jumping and eventing. Paul is a master at creating a rideable horse through the use of correct fundamentals and an empathetic style. He is also the trainer for Hyperion Stud LLC.

Wendy began her professional career spending two years with USET member rider Carol Hoffman Thompson. She then worked with Rodney Jenkins for eleven years eventually becoming his road manager. She and Paul were married in 1983 and began DaisyField Inc. While basing horse care on tried and true methods, Wendy stays current with the newest treatments and nutritional advances.

Paul & Wendy are active in the local equestrian community serving as board members of the Virginia Horse Shows Association. They were voted VHSA’s “Horsepersons of the Year” in 2007. Since 2007 they have been instrumental in orchestrating the ever popular AYR Equitation Challenge, which gives equitation riders an opportunity to compete in a unique competition held at the Virginia Horse Center.
