AYR Equitation Challenge

The AYR Equitation Challenge began in 2007. Its mission is to remember Amy Reistrup and give equitation riders a qualifying event exclusive to Virginia and its shows. The event is presented by the Virginia Horse Shows Association and held yearly during the Lexington National Horse Show at the Virginia Horse Center. Qualifying for 2023 commences at the Lexington National August 10-14, 2022 and ends July 31, 2023.

All 3’6” Equitation classes held in Virginia are qualifiers including: USEF Medal, WIHS Hunter and Jumper phase, VHSA Hunt Seat Medal, USEF Talent Search and the Winner of VHSA Finals. The only exception is The Oak Ridge Medal which is offered exclusively at the Virginia Horse Center.
